You may be married at St John's or St Mildred's church if:
One of you has been baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish
One of you has ever lived in the parish for six months or more
One of you has at any time regularly attended public worship in the parish for six months or more
One of your parents has lived in the parish for six months or more in their child’s lifetime
One of your parents has regularly attended public worship here for six months or more in their child’s lifetime
Your parents or grandparents were married in the parish
(all of these refer to Church of England services)
At present, the law prevents ministers of the Church of England from carrying out same-sex marriages, and although there are no authorised services for blessing a same-sex civil marriage, we can still support you with prayer.
